Successful entrepreneurs are driven by the desire to succeed in business. Entrepreneurs are born not made, have qualities other people lack and have to win at all costs.

Unlike most other websites providing advice on becoming an entrepreneur, we do not focus on trying to persuade people to make the leap from a secure job into the relative insecure world of business. In fact, if we do not think you are cut out for the cut and thrust of the business world, we will try and discourage you from making that leap.

It is us that invest our money in the Internet business projects we partner; unlike other websites that are trying to persuade you to invest your money in their own or affiliate business ventures.

To partner us, you need to have a good idea but you also have to have the qualities needed to carry the business forward and make our investment in you pay off. These qualities cannot be taught - only discovered within yourself. If they are not there, all the help and training in the world will not change your character.

When Paul Herbert, CEO of the Where On Earth Group left school at the age of fifteen, having been expelled for the second time, his head master said to him, "Herbert, you are a waste of space and will never amount to anything. When you walk out of these gates into the big wide world, you are going to fall flat on your face."

Having the ability to keep going when things are not going your way is just one of the qualities we look for in our partners. If we are going to invest tens or hundreds of thousands of pounds in building a proper website, search engine optimisation, linking strategies, online marketing and advertising and PR, we have to be convinced you are the right type of person.

We can provide all the online tools for the job but it is you that ultimately will determine whether the venture is a success or failure. You have to be prepared to make the personal sacrifices necessary to ensure you make the sales, make the calls and contacts and put in the hours when things are not going to plan.

The bottom line is, you have to have sales skills and more importantly the drive to prospect for business and make the requisite sales appointments everyday and we mean everyday. Convincing yourself that you are too busy doing other things will lead to failure. The most important thing is prospecting for business and nothing should get in the way of generating sales.

Reading books won't make you a successful entrepreneur, they may inspire you, give you ideas and make you feel motivated to succeed but the only person really capable of motivating you - is you.
