I have been a carpenter since the age of 18 and since that time have been self-employed working both within the private and public sector. I have sub-contracted to many major companies within the UK and abroad.

Within the public sector I have sub-contracted for many local companies working in schools, government buildings, railway companies, shops, on major housing developments and local councils. Within the private sector, my work mainly revolves around private households. I also carry out work doing insurance claim repairs and replacements.

My main area of work is carpentry and fitting kitchens, but my experience extends to decorating, painting, bathroom fitting, general household maintenance including the smallest of handyman chores which I do on an hourly basis or can be hired for the day for which I give a good 8 hours work.

My experience also includes building timber framed houses both in the UK and abroad. This experience has also helped me to refurbish three of my own homes which included building extensions and re-doing all the essential and decorative elements of same.

I am a good worker, experienced, give helpful and good advice and carry out all jobs to an excellent standard and during my career have never had any comebacks or bad feedback. Many of my customers get back in contact with me when they have work to do on their properties.

Qualifications:

I was trained by my father who is a qualified carpenter and joiner and taught me from scratch using all traditional methods of carpentry and joinery which has been a tremendous lesson and has stood me in good stead during my career. Being in the construction business for over 30 years has given me experience in doing and learning about the other skills that make up the system of construction and making sure that any work that I do is done to an excellent standard both during preparation and completion.

During recent years I have attained City and Guilds Certificate for PAT testing electrical items.
