Repetitive strain injury claims * how to sue an employer for RSI * work related upper limb disorder * WRULD * injury at work compensation claim
Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) is a condition which occurs when a particular set of muscles, tendons and nerves get damaged by overuse, repetitive movement, or incorrect working position.
RSI is generally associated with a person's everyday work activities. It is therefore also known as Work Related Upper Limb Disorder (WRULD).
Repetitive strain injury can take various forms, including bursitis. But RSI is most commonly seen in the neck, shoulder and arms and the symptoms include numbness, tingling, aches and pains, and cramps.
If you suffer from any of the above whilst undertaking a particular task (for example sitting at your desk at work and typing), and if your condition improves when you not at work, then this usually suggests that it is your working conditions which are the cause of your repetitive strain injury.
REPETITIVE STRAIN INJURY CLAIMS
Repetitive Strain Injury is easily preventable and treatable and your employer has a duty to ensure that steps are taken to minimize your risk of suffering from RSI whilst at work. If your employer fails to take such steps, you may be entitled to claim compensation for your injuries.
