Overpriced and over built just about summed up the property market in Spain towards the end of 2007 and Spanish property developers were feeling the pinch long before the property crash. When the credit crunch finally bit home, many property developers were in no position to take the necessary steps to survive for long. As a result many have gone to the wall and others are teetering on the brink.

Spanish property developers and estate agents behaved as if they had the goose that laid the golden egg and continued to build and push prices up as if the property boom would never come to an end. Now the chickens have come home to roost and there are thousands of repossessed properties being sold off by banks who are only too happy to cover their losses. Plus of course there are property developers desperate to unload properties at much reduced prices to keep their cash flow going. This of course applies to Costa Blanca, Costa Calida, Costa Valencia and Costa Almeria as well as other areas of Spain.

Couple all of this with thousands of ex-pats who made the move and now can't afford to stay due to the falling pound against the Euro.
