PYRAMID SCHEMES, SCAMS, FRAUDS AND GET RICH SCHEMES
Pyramid schemes, scams, frauds and get rich schemes, avoiding multi-level marketing schemes, pyramid schemes, scams and fraudulent get rich schemes and recognising genuine business opportunities
Other illegal pyramid schemes involve no discernable end product whatsoever. These schemes are run by people who promise a guaranteed way to get rich if you subscribe. You then discover that your role is to pay for a website and invest in pay per click advertising to recruit more idiots to do exactly the same thing. Everybody gets a percentage on every person who pays to join. Nobody actually sells anything and by the time the authorities have managed to track the crooks down, they have closed the scheme down, taken the bulk of the revenue with them, disappeared and started up another one.
SCAMS
Then there are the chain letter scams. These often start off with a "I was broke and then I discovered this fantastic way to make money whilst I sleep" story. They normally require you sending a certain amount of money to the first five or so people on a list. These are normally the same person or the original people behind the scam and they will appear in the list over and over again under pseudonyms. Again, these types of schemes are illegal in most countries in the western world and invariably close down soon after starting up, taking the proceeds with them.
Some chain letters are pretty nasty and contain content warning people that if they don't send the letter onto five people something nasty will happen to them. Often they contain examples of people failing to send them on and soon afterwards something dreadful befalls them. You would think in this day and age that people would not believe this rubbish but we know of numerous apparently intelligent people who have forwarded these emails for fear of falling victim to a disaster. Strange how the human mind works but it is obvious that these scammers know a thing or two about the human mind.
FRAUDS
Other scams often offer job opportunities to work from home doing research, stuffing letters, proof reading books, placing advertisements on websites etc. These types of scams say they have lists of employers and job vacancies that they will provide for a small fee. The people looking for this type of work are normally the most desperate and vulnerable and having shelled out to subscribe only to discover that no jobs are forthcoming.
Other ways to spot scams are websites telling you everything that the get rich scheme isn't but fails to tell you what it is. Genuine money earning and business opportunities are not scared to tell you what they are involved in.
I can tell you now that there is money to be made in
website flipping
which involves buying failing websites, building them up and selling them on. Telling you what we do and how to do it are two very different things. However, being clear about the business opportunity and advising people as to whether they should get involved and providing a contact telephone number on the website so that people can speak to us and know that there is someone real behind the website is the best way to spot the genuine article.
