I should point out that there are very few free internet advertising sites that are worth spending even your time on. It is like everything else that is involved with the internet; if the pages you are advertising on don't get any visitors, you have wasted your time and possibly money. It is an area best left to specialists who know where and how to advertise for maximum traffic. INTERNET MARKETING I include affiliate marketing simply because affiliate marketing should really be known as affiliate advertising. However, the term has become so entrenched in internet terminology that I am not going to attempt to educate nor correct the affiliate marketing companies that have sprung up. Internet marketing can include search engine optimisation, writing articles, Public Relations campaigns, blogging, banner advertising (another misnomer), website design, logo design, website placement and affiliate marketing as mentioned earlier. PRODUCTIVE SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMISATION A good marketing company can come up with a marketing message, logo design and website design and put a marketing campaign together and implement the strategy across hundreds and sometimes thousands of websites. You should avoid companies who use programs to place your advertisements on websites as this comes under spamming and can end in you being prosecuted. It is obviously important to have a firm grasp of all these subjects or have internet partners who understand the internet and how the search engines work in order to make money on line.
