INTERNET ADVERTISING - PIXEL ADVERTS - PPC ADVERTISING
Internet advertising - pixel adverts, PPC advertising, online marketing designed to generate high volumes of traffic to create awareness about a website using pixel adverts as internet advertising.
When considering how to spend your internet advertising budget there are a number of things you need to consider and you have to decide what you are trying to achieve. Sometimes your advertising has to be targeted and aimed at generating sales and sometimes you need to be trying to raise the profile of your website in order to create a greater awareness.
If you target your internet advertising, you will find it more cost effective from a visitor to sales ratio but you will also be restricting traffic levels and unlikely to expand your clientele outside of an existing market. On the other hand, if you go for blanket coverage, you are more likely to pick up new clients who did not know that your type of service or product existed.
PPC (pay per click) advertising
is one form of advertising that should be highly targeted or your advertising budget can run away from you. Managed properly, PPC can generate high sales levels but it also means you are bidding against competitors all trying to capture a slice of the same market. You are highly unlikely to pick up any passing trade or expand your market outside of existing users.
Pixel advertising
on the other hand, if you choose a
highly visited site can generate thousands of click throughs to your website for the merest fraction of the cost of pay per click advertising. The trick is understanding if pixel advertising is the right type of marketing for your website.
WHEN YOU SHOULD USE PIXEL ADVERTISING
If you have a website that is trying to attract a local audience, pixel advertising is not something you should consider. However, if you have a product or service that can be used by a national or worldwide audience, would be of interest to a wide type of clientele and or likely to pick up impulse buyers, then pixel advertising could prove to be the most cost efficient advertising you could buy.
Let me give you a couple of examples:
- If you sell a product or service where the client has to visit your premises or you have to visit their premises and it would not be viable for either party to travel long distances, then pixel adverts would not be a sensible purchase.
- If, however you have an E-commerce site for example, selling handbags or anything that would appeal to a wide audience then pixel advertising can be extremely effective and highly profitable.
However, you should not just run off and start buying pixel adverts on every website you see because most; in fact just about all websites selling pixel advertising get very little traffic and so you would be wasting your money.
So what pixel adverts should you buy?
