HOW TO MAKE MORE SALES BY RECRUITING THE RIGHT SALES PEOPLE

How to make more sales by recruiting the right sales people and providing them with a continuous flow of sales leads.

We said earlier on that our business to client relationship is a partnership. We succeed only if our customers succeed in making more sales from our marketing activities and therefore retain them as clients. There is little point in generating qualified sales leads from quality potential customers if your sales people are not of the right calibre. Up market clients with money to spend don't want to deal with down market sales people; they need to feel confident that the sales person is experienced and knows what they are talking about. It is far more profitable to have a small team of quality sales people than a large team of navvies.

Now reverse this situation. As a business, your sales people need to be talking to quality clients, who can afford your product or service and have expressed an interest in buying. If they are talking to prospects who have no money or need or desire for your product or service, they are wasting their time and your money.

We are skilled at generating sales leads and enquiries from quality people who have the need and desire and the means to pay. The system is never going to be perfect because we are dealing with the human factor and even we get enquiries from time to time from companies who, with the best will in the world are never going to grow because they have not grasped the importance of advertising and marketing.

Setting the ability to pay aside for one moment, because not every company has a huge marketing and advertising budget, although we can and are prepared to create a marketing campaign to fit even the tightest of budgets, one has to be realistic. In other words, you cannot expect to turn over a million pounds by placing a card in a newsagents window.

However, every company, no matter how small has to advertise and market their company in order to make sales. Accordingly, you have to be prepared to invest in marketing and advertising to get your company name out there and generate sales leads. All too often, we come across companies who are working in a highly competitive market who spent peanuts on a useless website that is lost amongst the millions of websites that pollute the internet and having supposedly saved themselves a few thousand by opting for a cheap website, then wonder why they are not making sales.

You have to be prepared to set your stall out accordingly. If you are selling wine gums you don't use the same approach or marketing budget as someone selling investment property. If you are looking for high worth clients you have to be prepared to invest in high worth advertising and marketing. You can sell wine gums off a market stall but you cannot expect someone ho is looking to invest in Bahamian property to take you seriously if you have a market stall or have placed a postcard in a newsagents' window. If a sale is going to earn your company £10,000 you have to be prepared to advertise and market your company accordingly. You cannot expect to generate a million pounds in sales on a peanut marketing budget and trying to do this is a false economy that many failing companies make. You are not saving money, you are losing your company fortunes.

Having said this, it is possible to start out relatively small and slowly build up providing you are prepared to continue to reinvest in advertising and marketing that is proportionate to your growth. Advertising and marketing when all said and done, can be a black hole into which you can pour money with little return. That is why it is important to talk to us because we are bursting with sales ideas.
