PARENTING ADVICE, HAVING A BABY, GIVING BIRTH
Parenting advice, having a baby, giving birth is going to hurt and in seconds after the arrival of your baby all the pain will be forgotten
A WALK IN THE PARK
We all agree, us mothers who have been there, got the t-shirt, now writing the book, that you certainly will experience at least 2 of the following:
- The birth will hurt.
- You'll not have a good night's sleep for 21 years.
- Their smile will melt you.
- Some days are tough.
- Babies do not enjoy overseas holidays.
- Most days you will love them more than anything else.
- Potty training is shit.
- Negotiating with a toddler will make managing tough clients a doddle.
- Three is one too many.
- The pride you feel about them outweighs all the struggles.
PARENTING ADVICE
Yes girls (and guys) a walk in the park it isn't. What it is, is an amazing journey, true rollercoaster style of up's and downs and it starts from the minute you discover you are pregnant. Nothing can describe the feeling, the fear and the excitement. As you develop through the term, not only will your body shape change. So too your world, your career, your sex life and your bank balance.
Sleep will start to become uncomfortable and the 8 hours stretch you used to take for granted will be a thing of the past - actually a period on hold. Until they are old enough to leave the nest. Also a time when your house looks spotlessly clean!
Start banking your sleep and rest as much as you can as soon as you can. Housework can wait. Ban the smoking and drinking, you won't regret it. You are going to be wearing them out before they wear you out.
