Languedoc Wines
For groups of friends, families, couples or corporate holidays, welcome to Baronnie de Bourgade and our wine tours “Discovering Languedoc Wines”!
Our job is to make your holiday a special one – discover the superb wines, local dishes, beautiful countryside and fascinating history in this authentic and undiscovered corner of France – the Languedoc!
Baronnie de Bourgade
At Baronnie de Bourgade wine was first made by the Romans over 2 000 years ago and this tradition has continued down the centuries;
today the estate continues to produce it’s own wine: “Les 3 Poules” and is owned by Baron Gilles de Latude and his English wife Ruth, who will be your guide for the duration of your stay. Ruth has worked in the wine trade for over 20 years.
Our wine tour is informal – you don’t have to be a connaisseur in wines to join in.
There will be visits to vineyards and wine tastings, delicious lunches at local restaurants and guided tours of historic towns. We also include a day’s “work” in the vineyards picking grapes, bottling or pruning – so that you can discover more about wine making - one of the aims of our tour.
There will also be time to relax and a day for you to explore on your own.
Locale
Baronnie de Bourgade is situated between Béziers and Pézenas surrounded by fields, woodland and vineyards . Both towns have a fascinating history: Béziers dating from greek and roman times and was the famous 19th century “capital of wine”; Pézenas, a medieval town where Molière lived and worked is charming with many of the 16th century buildings intact.
