Basse-Normandie (lower Normandy) is usually compared to the English countryside with hedgerows separating acres of meadows and apple orchards. They settled in Rouen - a beautiful city of culture, dominated by Claude Monet's favourite cathedral. French vacations in Pays de la Loire. Come and vacation in the Pays de la Loire a region of sharp contrasts.
