ECOLOGICAL SURVEYS

ecological surveys * protected species survey * defra license legislation * ecological habitat

We carry out ecological surveys, protected species surveys under Defra license legislation.

High quality survey data provides a foundation on which all ecological work must be based. ecosulis ltd offers expert knowledge of standard techniques typically used by statutory consultees such as Natural England, Countryside Council for Wales, DEFRA and the Environment Agency. In addition we have pioneered our own survey techniques for specific habitats and species groups.

Standardised surveys undertaken by ecosulis ltd include:
  • Extended Phase I Habitat Survey
  • Phase II surveys
  • National Vegetation Classification
  • River Corridor Survey
  • River Habitat Survey
We offer a comprehensive survey and assessment service that covers all plant and animal groups including those specifically protected by UK and European wildlife legislation. We hold handling and disturbance licences for a range of scheduled species.

Species groups covered:
  • Plants
  • Mammals
  • Amphibians
  • Reptiles
  • Fish
  • Terrestrial and aquatic invertebrates
  • Birds
