Mention Marrakech (Marrakesh) in central Morocco and people of all ages will conjure up all types of images and memories. Those of us old enough to remember the song "Marrakesh Express" by Crosby, Stills and Nash will most likely conjure up images of Marrakech for what some would consider the wrong reasons. I actually travelled this route during the early seventies although my memories of Marrakech are more vivid from my time spent their in the late eighties.

Today, Marrakech is a popular tourist destination and was recently voted the world's eighth favourite holiday destination. Known as The Red City, Marrakech, has maintained the ability to enchant, entice and excite ever since it was founded in 1062. In the last decade or so Marrakech has emerged as a major destination in world tourism and has become one of the most desirable and fashionable destinations for the international jet set to congregate.
This is why Morocco and in particular Marrakech is so important as a centre for property investment. If you are looking for strong capital growth coupled with high rental income potential, Marrakech has it all.
Tourism to Morocco has increased year on year with 2006 showing a remarkable 14% increase over the previous year with over 6.5 million visitors and Marrakesh accounted for over 50% of those visitors. Currently, the airport handles over 4 million visitors a year and once expansion plans are complete this figure is expected to rise to 8 million. More than 100 flights a week now operate between Marrakech and the UK and new low cost routes are now available from Madrid and Paris.
This is why Marrakech has to be top of any property investors wish list and with prices still low but increasing every year, we would commend Marrakech as the number one investment destination.
