Our featured properties are Le Buisson and Le Buisson
Jolie; two beautiful holiday lets near Cognac in the departement
of the Charente, in the Poitou region. If you are visiting
the Charente and looking for self-catering holiday accommodation,
we are pleased to recommend these two superb properties.
All the accommodation is of a very high standard. It is
fully furnished, inclusive are large bathrooms en suite,
large lounge with television, radio and video. There is
a large kitchen ( fully fitted) with a normal sized cooker,
fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, washer and an ironing
board. There will be a welcome pack comprising wine, cheese,
bread, tea, coffee etc. The main shopping centre is within
easy reach (6 mins) at Cognac. Local village shops include
a boulongerie, epicerie, post office, pharmacy, doctors
surgery, hair dressers, tabac, restaurant and bar, all
within walking distance, i.e. 600 metres. |

| There
is a swimming pool, (approx 10 by 5) with sunbeds, barbecue
area and patio area. Also included are bikes, videos,
a book library, a cleaning service with all towels, hairdryer
and bed linen provided, with cots and high chairs available
on request. There is ample parking for vehicles. The farmhouse
is situated in a small tranquil village, in the midst
of the vineyard countryside. With lots of Cognac and wine
tasting in the surrounding area. There are many places
of interest nearby such as Royan and La Rochelle within
the hour by car. The principal towns within easy reach
are Angouleme, Cognac, Rochefort and Saintes. The Val
de Charente is a haven for nature, fishing and golf. Whether
you are on foot, horseback or mountainbike, the cross-country
paths are endless. Local specialities include world famous
Cognac, pineau, oysters, mussels, cagouilles, mojhettes
and jonchee cheese. The cottage sleeps 6/7. |
