Hello there

Between 1987 and 1997 I was what is sometimes called a Trailing Spouse. These days the more accepted term is Accompanying Partner. The title does not matter. What matters is that I followed my husband, and later took our two children too, to three different countries. He pursued his career in the oilfield services industry. I was behind him, packing up and unpacking our possessions and my career at regular intervals. Did I give my husband, and his company a hard time? Of course I did. But I also decided that while I may have been an Expat Wife, I was not going to be an Expat Whinger, well, not in public, anyway.

Instead, rather than looking for problems, I sought out opportunities. Rather than regretting losing my business and my contacts time and again, I found ways to take them with me. I discovered the secrets of a portable career.

Ever since the publication of my book ‘Career in Your Suitcase’ I have been passionate about sharing what I know about with others who also want a flexible, portable career, that leaves them time for their families and keeps their self esteem intact.

As a result, since 1997, I have been teaching seminars and writing books and articles that help you to Find Your Passion, Find Your Writer’s Voice and Find Your Feet wherever you may find yourself living in the world.
