Sally Fortt

British born Sally Fortt spent the winters of the 1990s in France, where she ran a ski business, and the summers in Spain where she owned a restaurant. Whilst expecting her second child, she and her husband and family relocated to Lausanne, Switzerland.

'With two young children to care for, I decided a change of lifestyle was necessary,' she explains. 'I still wanted to do some activity though, but it needed to be something which I could fit around the children. In Spain, I had been able to buy Usborne books for my son Jake. He loved the books, and I wanted to buy them for him in Switzerland, so becoming an Usborne Books at Home Organiser seemed ideal.'

Not only does Sally benefit from an additional income, but her children also have an excellent supply of quality books, and Sally enjoys meeting other expatriates.

Soon after joining Usborne, a friend became Sally's first recruit.

'After two years with Usborne, my team has now grown to 14 organisers, who live in Switzerland, France, Spain, Holland, Denmark and the UK. We communicate via email. Some of my team sell to friends, others make it a full time business; it's up to each individual,' she explains.
