Become an entrepreneur, start your own business stop being unemployed government solution to rising unemployment is to encourage entrepreneurialism

The world is made up of the haves and the have nots. Entrepreneurs, the employed, the unemployed and the unemployable. The entrepreneurs go out and make money. The employed go out and make money for the entrepreneurs and are rewarded meagrely on the most part for their efforts. The unemployed would in the main like to become employed and that leaves the unemployable who fall into two categories. Those who are genuinely disabled and unable to work and those who simply want to feed off the system and can't be asked to work. The latter give the former a bad name and prevent the system from being able to fully support the disabled.

Now some questions have to be asked. Why would anyone want to go out to work for someone else and make money for them? Why doesn't everyone want to be an entrepreneur and get rich themselves?

BECOME AN ENTREPRENEUR

There are several reasons why people don't want to become an entrepreneur. Some are scared of taking the plunge. Some have no idea where to start but most have been indoctrinated into believing that there is security in having a job and that everyone has a right to work and be guaranteed and income. Of course, this is unadulterated bollocks.

Obviously the people who work within the governmental departments have all taken that route because they like the idea of having job security and knowing they cannot be sacked unless they murder someone. And even if they do, they know they will most likely just get transferred to another department. They also like the fact that they are expected to do fuck all, not do it well and still get paid and retire with a fat pension.

START YOUR OWN BUSINESS

Outside of working for the government, there is no such thing as job security as the thousands of people who have been made redundant can testify. Most of them opted for what they believed was a secure job with low prospects but a guaranteed wage at the end of the month only to fond out that their security was based on the decisions being made by someone else. The reality is, you can only have job security if you make your own guarantees and that is why you should start your own business.

The question is what kind of business and how do you go about starting one. But before that, you have to get your mental frame of mind right. You have to stop thinking that the world owes you a living. You have to stop complaining theta there are no job opportunities out there. You have to stop believing that you have a right to work and that someone else should provide that job opportunity.

STOP BEING UNEMPLOYED

Get off you fat arse. Get out there and start carving out a career for yourself. Stop being unemployed and become one of the self-employed. Start to make decisions on your own. Stop looking for a job you can do and start thinking about how you can apply your life's experiences to making money.

No doubt you will have watched and laughed raucously at the BBC series Only Fools and Horses. Laughed at del and Rodney's attempts to make money over more than twenty years until they finally become millionaires. It may have been hysterical and but it was far closer to real life than most people in their safe little jobs in their semi-detached little lives ever realised.

The fact is that across the planet, millions of people are making money buying and selling at boot fairs, antique fairs, auctions and online on websites like EBay and doing it without any training or education or government backing. They are the wheeler dealers of this world, the entrepreneurs who go out every morning in the hope and belief that they will come across a priceless antique that will make them rich. But in the meantime, they buy and sell anything they can find for a profit. They trade in antiques, second hand items, cars and property. It doesn't matter what so long as they can buy something and sell it on at a profit.

There is absolutely nothing stopping you or anyone else from doing the same. Well there is actually and that's a negative attitude because the moment someone comes up with a pathetic reason as to why they can't do it, you can bet your life that they will persuade themselves not to do it. Yet here we are in a society that is determined to recycle everything, where most people are looking to save money and pick up a bargain and all you have to do is fulfil that need.

So what if you don't have any money? You are probably like every other person in the UK who has a house or garage full of things you no longer use but could sell and turn them into cash. So load up your car and get yourself down to the next boot fair near you or have a garage sale and get people to come to your place. That will give you your working capital and now it's up to you to start finding other items you can buy and turn into a profit. You only have to walk round any boot fair to find potential stock you can move on.

Training? Knowledge? Don't give me those old chestnuts as excuses not to do this. I'll give you the same piece of advice that I was given when I started out - Let your eyes be your guide and your money be the last thing you part with. Now get off your fat lazy arse and stop depending on everyone else to support you. There is no longer any reason why you should claim unemployment benefit or complain about the lack of job opportunities.

What's more, whilst you've been moping around the house watching day time television you've been getting all the education and training you need through the likes of Cash of Trash, Bargain Hunt, Flog It, Cash in the Attic, Car Booty and goodness knows how many other programmes the companies churn out during the day to entertain lazy sods like you.

I bet you've laid their on your couch with your beer in your hand watching the likes of Tim Wonacott saying they've just paid twenty pound for something and they plan on selling it for a few hundred pounds. What's the difference between them and you? I'll tell you - they're out their working and you're sitting on your arse complaining that it's easy for them. Of course it is - they're not afraid to get out there and do something with their lives. And don't you dare say they're lucky! No they're not, they are no luckier than you. The difference is they don't sit around moping about how tough life is.

GOVERNMENT SOLUTION TO RISING UNEMPLOYMENT

What would you do if there was no such thing as unemployment benefit? How many people would sign off sick if they didn't get incapacity benefit? How many people would lie down and die and how many would realise that they had to help themselves because no one else would do it for them.

Our social system was set up to help those who couldn't help themselves and all of us as an interim period when things got tough. However, it has been hijacked by lazy and morally corrupt scroungers who give those people who genuinely need help a bad name.

It is time that the government took a tougher stance and stopped paying anyone who is really fit for work or who has been unemployed for longer than six months. Some of the money saved could be used to pay decent benefits to the genuinely sick and the rest used to help people start their own businesses.

ENCOURAGE ENTREPRENEURIALISM

Because it is no good toughening up on paying unemployment benefits to the long term unemployed if the government doesn't do something to encourage entrepreneurialism. If we are truly going to encourage people to start their own businesses we need to give them decent tax breaks to get them established. Cut down on all the unnecessary bureaucracy and paperwork that the self-employed and business people have to deal with and make it a hundred times easier to run a business. At the moment, most entrepreneurs are weighed down by bureaucracy and spend too much time dealing with governmental crap and not enough time concentrating on making money.

The unemployed should be encouraged to get out there and do something to help themselves and not become institutionalised in a way that they have come to accept the fact that they will be paid benefits for the rest of their lives. Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind.

It is now time that the UK became a real platform to launch student entrepreneurs.
