In fact the drive fro Valldemossa down to it's port as the crow flies is only about 2 kilometers but winding its way down the cliff takes about half an hour.
The stunning town of Soller, with it's little old train into Pama through the mountains and citrus groves, Valldemossa, home to Chopin and George Sands, and Dia, home more recently to Micheael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones, are all beautiful places.
A drive though the mountains, especially around the Sa Calobra, or 'knot of the tie' is simply wonderful, even though some of the drops are interesting!
