So is pixel advertising as a form of internet advertising the way forward and is it going to be enough to ensure that Boogami establishes itself and has a future. After all, selling a mere few million dollars worth of pixel advertising is chicken feed and hardly going to provide the level of investment needed to continue to compete with the likes of Google and Yahoo with their billion dollar internet advertising incomes.

The simple answer to this question is no and the few million that this young man makes is going to get swallowed up very quickly in future development costs. James is going to need to move quickly and put his ideas into action to keep users on their toes and waiting for the next exciting development. Providing advertisers get a good return on their initial investment, they will be keen to maintain their pixel advertising and keen to take advantage of any new income opportunities that Boogami has to offer.

Those advertisers who saw the opportunity to make money in the early days will be looking to James to support them in the same way as they supported him when he first started out. Customer, company loyalty works both ways and James has already grasped the need to maintain a loyal customer database.

Those quick enough to snap up the first lot of pixel adverts will have done well and if I was the MD of any company that had not been quick enough to buy my place on Boogami; I would be asking serious questions of my marketing manager as to why we had lost out on such a great marketing opportunity.

After all, when pixels only cost £1.00 each, advertising this type of advertising comes within the financial grasp of even the smallest companies and the larger players would be able to secure large enough blocks to make their banners easily read. With each block of a hundred pixels only costing £100 for twelve months, a section of 10 or twenty blocks is hardly going to make dent in most companies' advertising budgets.

Think about it, a million visitors a day, each doing just three searches means your advert is going to get seen three million times a day. If you bought just ten blocks, you are looking at an internet advertising spend of just £2.70 per day and that is only if Boogami only picks up 0.001% of all search engine traffic. My guess is, if the media get behind him, traffic levels are going to be far higher than predicted.

Pixel advertising may prove to be the founding income generator for Boogami but James is going to have to come up with other internet advertising income generating ideas to ensure that Boogami continues to grow and prosper because his competitors will be looking to capture his market place. Staying one step ahead of his competition and ensuring the media keep his search engine in the public eye to maintain awareness will be essential.

The major search engines have deep pockets and cash to throw around like confetti; pay per click advertising has taken care of that and business analysts predict that internet advertising is set to rise yet again next year. So do James and his new team go down the pay per click route and try to usurp Google and Yahoo or have they another trick up their sleeve. Knowing some of the team he has already recruited, pay per click advertising will only be one option they are looking at.
